As a result of both raw material and staff shortages, we have decided to temporarily suspend production of our Royal Sussex Traditional and Wealden Sussex Trugs. Over the next few weeks and months we will be training new staff and will advise our customers when we are again able to supply these popular Trugs. Our South Down Contemporary Trugs are still available and are helping us weather the current difficult world economy.
Please Note: Trugs sent to Norway or Switzerland will incur an additional £20 customs clearance charge for which we will bill you separately. Norwegian customers will also be required to give their National Identity Number for customs purposes.
Trugs delivered to overseas territories may be subject to import or local sales taxes.
As our American customers will know, the de minimis allowance of $800 on small imported goods has been cancelled by the Trump administration. Additionally, new tariffs, which are a form of import tax, have been added.
Consequently, our customers now need to pay a 5.8% customs duty plus a 10% import tariff on all goods entering the country. This can make things complicated, so we have made it easy to buy one of our trugs.
We have a new page for American customers below, and all prices shown there are fully inclusive of the cost of the trug, door-to-door carriage by UPS, customs duty, and import tariffs. There is nothing more for you to pay, and customs clearance will be quicker as we will be paying those taxes before your trug leaves our workshop. Customs clearance is usually affected during transit, thus saving time when your trug arrives in America.
