Kent County Show

Kent County Show at Detling was a lovely show in a great venue and we were in the woodland section under the trees and therefore in a very pleasant place, sheltered from the hot sun, which shone for three glorious days!  We met some really interesting people including old chums from the Bodgers (Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Green Wood Workers), Jon, Lin and Amy.  Next to us were John & Donna who were selling solid wood trugs and who, with Jon & Lin, kept Mike and I well watered with tea and coffee.  John & Donna also brought over some French bread toasted with cheese on yesterday (Sunday).  Thanks to all you guys for looking after us and for your convivial company.

Around the corner was John Carnell, fellow traditional Trug maker who had some very interesting photos to show us.  I have known John for many years and it was great to catch up with him for some bonhomie.

We also met Justin & Ben from whom we are going to be able to buy some timber so, although we didn’t set the World alight with sales, all-in-all it was a very pleasant and interesting weekend.
